THE 2006 HARVEST BEGINS IN LANGUEDOC
Thanks to a particularly rainy winter in 2005, the vines made a perfectly
successful appearance in the Spring. There was practically no precipitation
in the Spring, a relatively dry climate, with scattered Maritime showers in
June and July, and a brief break in the heat in the beginning of August.
These weather conditions contibuted to us beginning the harvest of the Chardonnay
as early as August 18th.
The grapes have developed wonderfully. The whites are golden and already reveal
powerful, tropical fruit aromas, characteristic of the soil of Preignes le
Neuf. The reds are deeply coloured (the Syrah is particularly aromatic, and
the Merlot deeply fruity), with elegant tannins.
The grape harvest continues with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc,
which are now coming to maturity.
