Elephant
on a Tightrope Beaujolais Villages Nouveau
at
Madeleine’s Petit Paris, Northvale, NewJersey
November 2006
Every year, same time,
same place, Madeleine’s Petit Paris, a fine dining restaurant and banquet
facility at 416 Tappan Rd. in Northvale, New Jersey, holds its Beaujolais
Nouveau dinner. A new participant this year was Elephant on a Tightrope Beaujolais
Villages NouveauGuests
helped themselves to the Beaujolais, bottles of which were set out on a centrally
located table. All three Beaujolais were of excellent quality, selected by
restaurant owners, Madeleine and Gaspard’s son, Francois, a graduate
of Johnson & Wales where he earned his degree in Hotel & Restaurant
Management. Guests
received a print-out of general facts about Beaujolais Nouveau to make this
a real learning experience.

Owner/Chef Gaspard prepared an incredible 6-course dinner, even using Beaujolais as a ingredient in several courses. Baked Halibut au Beaujolais, Beaujolais Sorbet, even the pears were poached in Beaujolais! At the end of a relaxing evening of music and dining, Madeleine, owner/hostess, took a vote and most people preferred “Elephant on a Tightrope Beaujolais Villages Nouveau over the Domaine de la Madone Jean Bererd et fils, Beaujolais le Perrean and the most popular, George DuBoeuf.
For César Baeza,
Winemaster/Exec. V.P. Brotherhood, America’s Oldest Winery/Vinecrest
Imports, and his wife, Annette, who attended this dinner, it was a exciting,
wonderful evening. At the end of the evening they were introduced to those
in attendance and César was asked to say something about the Elephant
on a Tightrope Beaujolais Villages Nouveau, and the people behind the wine.
